The Harpa Conference Centre
Austurbakki 2, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland
The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is a stunning glass-walled conference venue located right on the waterfront in downtown Reykjavik with beautiful views of the harbour and the surrounding mountains. Its prime location puts you within walking distance of many of the city's best hotels, restaurants, and shops. Harpa is a perfect starting point for exploring Reykjavik’s vibrant city life and unique culture.
The History of the Centre
The story of Harpa begins in 2007 with the first blast for its foundation. As a centerpiece of the revitalization of the Reykjavik harbor area, it was a massive and ambitious project. Despite the financial crisis of 2008, the Icelandic government decided to see the project through, viewing it as a symbol of the nation's resilience. Harpa officially opened in 2011 and has since become one of Reykjavik's most iconic buildings, a landmark of modern Icelandic architecture and culture.

On the Inside
Harpa is an exceptional meeting place for international visitors. The venue's special appeal lies in its dual function as an international concert hall and conference center. This is beautifully showcased in its design: a spectacular glass facade, inspired by Iceland’s unique basalt columns, wraps around a dynamic and modern interior. The various halls are designed for both world-class musical performances and professional conferences, offering a truly unique and memorable experience for attendees.

Centrally Located
Harpa is centrally located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, right on the waterfront. It's an easy walk to many of the city's hotels, restaurants, bars, and museums. A direct bus from Keflavik International Airport (KEF) takes you to the BSI bus terminal in downtown Reykjavik in about 45 minutes, from which the venue is a short taxi ride or a pleasant 20-minute walk. Harpa is the perfect gateway to start exploring Reykjavik and experience Icelandic culture.
